NEW AND IMPROVED 1:1 Peer Counseling!
MAP for Health has expanded our 1:1 Peer Counseling program to better benefit our community. We are continuing our previous 1:1 peer counseling where you have a safe, confidential space to talk about anything stressing you out. However, our new extension allows folks to address more specific topics. These will be in addition to our traditional 1:1 peer counseling. New extensions includes:
Peer leaders can assist you in finding a counselor, psychiatrist, psychologist, or social worker that works best for you. Please note, we may ask for details pertaining to your health insurance plan, in order to find a service that is covered under insurance and best suited for your preferences and needs.
THERAPY MATCHING
ACADEMIC MENTORSHIP
As we cater to API LGBT youth, we understand some of our demographic may be applying to university or vocational schools. Our peer leaders can help with the Common Application, FAFSA, or general college/career counseling.
For those looking for specific resources, our peer leaders can help find an updated list of resources that best suit your needs, ranging from barbers, gender affirming care, support groups, and more.
